2 Postdocs to model the interaction between drainage systems, groundwater, and coastal water via EGU

Job description

We invite applications for two postdoc positions to model the interaction between drainage systems, groundwater, and coastal water. The model will be used to predict urban flooding and pollution.

The research is within a larger project titled “Assessment of compound flood risk from the combined effects of sea level rise on storm surge, tidal and groundwater flooding, and stormwater” funded by USGS and described at this link: https://www.usgs.gov/science/assessment-compound-flood-risk-combined-effects-sea-level-rise-storm-surge-tidal-and#overview

Applicants should have a PhD in either hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources, or a related field and expertise in computational modeling of hydrological systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are necessary, and the knowledge of the Italian language is not required. The position is for 1 years starting in May 2024 with possible extension to 2 years.
