Overview

As part of the SATO team, you are a driving force behind securing access to safe sanitation for millions of people across the world. You will assist in designing and implementing affordable, sustainable and accessible products based on the specific wants and needs of customers. 

Responsibilities

SATO, an award-winning brand under LIXIL Corporation, offers innovative sanitation and hygiene solutions available for all with the intent of accelerating global progress toward SDG 6 and achieving LIXIL’s goal of reaching 100 million people with improved sanitation and hygiene by the end of 2025.
SATO is seeking an experienced Leader to scale and support SATO’s reach through the growing channels of government and development agency procurement, and the humanitarian sector.

The Leader, Humanitarian and Multilateral Business, will report to the Leader, SATO to increase the opportunities, collaborations, and business results from strategic partnerships and business development. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic partnerships, the development sector, and procurement and business development. The Leader will play a critical role as a focal point in SATO to represent the business in these channels and to gain understanding of the needs and preferences for solutions to inform portfolio development.

Qualifications

Gain broad understanding of the landscape of sanitation and hygiene in the development and humanitarian sector to inform strategy and prioritization.

Grow the development procurement and humanitarian business ensure the establishment and processing of SATO’s humanitarian and procurement leads and manage the conversion and follow, identify, develop and convert international procurement (humanitarian sector, government, development agency).

  • Act as primary point of contact and lead relationship management with key partner accounts involved in procurement opportunities, and notably the humanitarian/ emergency response sector.
  • For these partners, collaborate with the Leader, Global Partnerships to develop and track partner agreements and reporting of objectives, process and impact KPIs, and reporting data and insights across regions and globally.
  • Serve as a conduit for feedback and insights from sector partners, particularly for humanitarian and emergency response or large-scale projects, to inform SATO strategic priorities including geographic expansion, positioning, and product development.
  • Represent SATO and engage in events, research, and other partnership initiatives to grow SATO’s humanitarian presence and government and development agency-funded investments in WASH.
  • Degree completed from a recognized college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in partnerships, business development or government or humanitarian strategies and transactions.
  • Demonstrated track record in business development (procurement, relationship management, pipeline development, etc), ideally in the development sector.
  • Experience in corporate partnerships, government relations, business-to-business sales and relationship management, or water, sanitation, or related fields preferred, particularly in the global development sector procurement processes.
  • Import/export and international trade knowledge and experience, including familiarity with incoterms, would be a plus.
  • Strong client orientation with customer or partner- relationship management experience.
  • Exceptional organization skills. Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Applications, and familiarity with web-based platforms (e.g., digital catalogues, data management).
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • English language fluency is required and fluency in French is a plus. 

The selected individual will travel domestic and international, estimated at 20%.

Hiring Range

The Hiring Salary Range for this position is $114, 500 – $187,000 annually.

(Salary offer to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)  Other Compensation (if applicable): This role will be eligible to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive plan.
