Overview

Part of the SATO team, you are a driving force behind securing access to safe sanitation for millions of people across the world. SATO is a social business whose purpose is to empower people everywhere to live a better life, every day, and to enjoy a brighter future through innovative sanitation and hygiene solutions.You will assist in designing and implementing affordable, sustainable and accessible products based on the specific wants and needs of customers.

Provide support to the Partnership for Better Living’s (PBL) country-level programs, i.e., checking in regularly with country leads, ensuring timely execution of work plans, clear roles and responsibilities, subaward management, budget alignment, assigning tasks and supporting country leads in relationship-management as necessary, including with USAID Missions

Conduct market research to inform new market entry, for example market sizing, partner and project landscapes; design scopes of work for hiring of external consultants when in-depth analyses are required; ensure consistent documentation of findings and maintenance of records

Support the Program Director and Marketing/Comms Leader to ensure colleagues across the organization are up to date on PBL activities and lessons learned through management of meeting notes, contributing to databases and updating internal documents (e.g., country business plans); may be asked to present on behalf of PBL to internal and external audiences

Contribute substantially to regular reporting to USAID and other key stakeholders, e.g., semi-annual reporting, performance reporting, communications and learning pieces, monthly update meetings with USAID Missions, annual work plan etc.

Provide in-person support to country programs through international travel; meet with key stakeholders such as development partners, USAID, and local governments to strengthen relationships and advocate on behalf of PBL

Responsibilities

The Senior Program Manager will provide support to the Program Director for the design and execution of activities in service of the objectives of the Partnership for Better Living.  This will include a range of support activities including, but not limited to: providing support to country-level programs, preparation of market research to inform prioritization and decision-making, documentation of tools and processes, implementation across markets (countries), and may entail engagement with USAID Missions. The Senior Program Manager will report to the Program Director.

Qualifications

Minimum required Undergraduate degree or higher in engineering, public health, business, planning, or other related fields.

At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a Project Management, Analyst or Market Research role.

At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in the development sector, ideally with developing country context experience and/or in the WASH sector.

Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, compile and analyze data and communicate this to a broad range of audiences.

Attention to detail; ability to create user-friendly tools/documents and to present data in a digestible form.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work-streams and/or a project of this magnitude and complexity.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Proficient in Google Workplace i.e., Sheets/Slides/Doc preferred.

Experience working with USAID or USAID-funded projects is a plus.

Experience in partnerships with private sector and/or social enterprises in the target markets is a plus.

Spanish and/or French working proficiency is strongly preferred.

Experience working in monitoring, evaluation and learning, particularly for USAID projects, a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of government and civil society counterparts and donor partners.

Ability to travel up to 15% domestic and international.

Hiring Range

The hiring salary range for this position is $79,000 to $126,000 annually. Salary offer to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Other Compensation (if applicable): This role will be eligible to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive plan.
