Overview

The primary responsibility of the Programs Assistant is to support Utah State University Water Quality Extension in implementing outreach and educational programs to increase awareness of the importance of our water bodies and to protect Utah’s water from nonpoint source pollution.

Responsibilities

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to

  • Help support Utah Water Watch volunteers
  • Maintain and update websites
  • Assist with statewide water quality outreach campaigns
  • Update curriculum aligned to the new SEEd standards for Utah about understanding, protecting, and restoring the water quality and riparian health of lakes, streams, wetlands, and other waterbodies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in watershed sciences, ecology, environmental studies, or other related field or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Utah’s waterways
  • Experience working with volunteers and the general public
