The National Space Science Center (NSSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is a leading research institute in China in the fields of Space science, including space physics, space environment, microwave remote sensing and space engineering technology. The Center for Earth Science from Space (CESS) at NSSC is a new research center to study frontier earth science questions to increase our understanding of Earth system and to improve societal benefits from space. The objectives are mainly including the interactions of 3 major natural process cycles (energy, water, and biochemical cycles) and human activity under climatic change. CESS will focus on innovation of both developing new observing capability and improving the process models of Earth system.
CESS is planning to fill 20-30 new positions at different level positions over the next 3 years to enhance the research capabilities. All positions remain open until filled. The salary and benefit packages will be offered depending on the different position level. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to remote sensing and different processes in earth system modeling.
Applicants with a Ph.D. degree in the related disciplinary science or engineering and academic skills are preferred. To apply, submit the following materials electronically to [email protected], with 1) Curriculum Vitae (with a complete list of publications); 2) Statement of research interests; 3) PDFs of the recent publications; and 4) Names and contact information for 3 references.
