As Senior Climate Change Specialist with WWF UK we want you to continue our proud track record of influencing policy-makers on a wide range of climate change and energy policy areas. As a key member of our climate change team, you will serve as our policy expert in decarbonisation in the UK and deliver projects supporting our polar and climate pillars of our strategy. We will look to you to make connections with experts and practitioners in UK government, industry and NGOs as well as build your understanding of the UK’s progress in decarbonising the economy. You will also engage and advocate to government to further our policy positions on decarbonisation. You will identify gaps, commission and manage research to inform interventions, and develop an advocacy action plan to take forward any recommendations too. Whether contributing to policy development or collaborating with campaign colleagues to frame climate campaigns you will play a key role in our success.

You must have experience of working on climate change and environmental issues as well as up-to-date knowledge of climate change and energy, and the related politics and economics of both, with a focus on the UK. Comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders, including government, private sector and civil society, you will possess a sound understanding of UK politics and political institutions. You will also be effective at managing contracts with consultancies and other external partners. You will also possess excellent networking, communication and decision-making skill too.

A relevant qualification would be an advantage.
