Water for Women is supporting improved health, gender equality and well-being in Asian and Pacific communities through climate-resilient inclusive water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects and research. Water for Women is the Australian Government’s flagship WASH international development program and is being delivered in 16 countries, investing AUD159.9 million over seven years from 2018 to 2025.

About the Role

Water for Women’s MEL Adviser is a fulltime fixed term position based in Melbourne commencing as soon as practicable and running through to the May 2025. This role is responsible for overseeing the systems and processes by which the Fund Coordinator can ‘tell the Fund Story’. This involves tracking Fund progress, and synthesising this into a coherent, Fund-wide story that communicates the performance of the Fund to a range of stakeholders. The MEL Adviser plays a pivotal role in the Fund Coordinator team, and the successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to work in a collaborative, transparent manner in addition to a commitment to gender and social inclusion, reflective practice and ongoing learning. Eligible candidates must have the following specific skill requirements:

  • Masters level qualifications in a relevant discipline and extensive development experience
  • Experience developing and applying M&E systems and using them to inform learning
  • Conceptual understanding of how M&E contributes to learning
  • An understanding of and commitment to gender and social inclusion strategies
  • Understanding of development programming, particularly those funded by DFAT
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective relationship management with diverse partners, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with partners and colleagues

WASH sector knowledge and experience is desirable.
