About the role:
You’ll support water quality monitoring, assessments, and reporting across the state, ensuring alignment with EPA’s strategic priorities to prevent harm to communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
This role is a combination of lab, field, and office work with the occasional need to work outside of normal business hours and for overnight stays.
In this role you will:
- Prioritise tasks and monitor workflow to deliver high-quality water monitoring operations.
- Support laboratory and field work operations, maintaining and troubleshooting scientific equipment.
- Engage with community and stakeholders to build awareness of environmental protection laws.
- Support recreational water monitoring, water quality forecasting and reporting.
Skills and experience:
- Tertiary degree in Microbiology, Freshwater Science, Marine Science, or Ecotoxicology.
- Experience in water monitoring operations and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot scientific equipment and general laboratory facilities and other Standard operation procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the water operations team to deliver programs.
