ERM are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Graduate/Consultant for our expanding UK wide Water Management Team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their career, work on a range of exciting multi-disciplinary projects within the renewable energy and built environment sectors, and contribute to the climatic transition.
You will work alongside experienced water resources and flood risk consultants to deliver a range of environmental assessments, field-based surveys and technical advice. You will also work alongside experts from other environmental teams including ecology and biodiversity, landscape architecture peatland management teams to develop holistic environmentally friendly solutions.
You’ll support senior employees preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) Strategies, as well as support the preparation of hydrology and water resource chapters within Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
You’ll conduct field surveys for water quality monitoring and modelling, and conduct hydraulic and hydrological modelling to support design development using a range of appropriate software including InfoWorks ICM, Micro Drainage, Flood Modeller, MIKE+, MIKE 21, FSR, ReFH, NewUK, FEH, & WINFAP-FEH.

About you
You’ll have a relevant degree qualification and a desire to use your knowledge to solve key issues relating to the water environment. You’ll be familiar with relevant GIS software, an awareness of one or more hydraulic and/or hydrological modelling software packages would be advantageous (e.g., Flood Modeller, ReFH2, FEH, InfoDrainage). You’ll also possess strong communication skills, and exemplary planning and organisation skills are key for success.
