Job description

Company description

Water is one of life’s most important resources in economies, eco-systems and societies. Today our world faces challenges of too little, too much and polluted water and we can see water crisis’ occurring more frequently around the world.

In the IKEA People and Planet Positive Strategy, we commit to enabling reduced water consumption, water efficiency and purification of water.

In order to meet these commitments, IKEA is deepening its analysis and evaluation of water used in our value chain by using life cycle analysis (LCA) and existing LCA databases.
In particular, IKEA is exploring the water used for raw material sourcing which is the largest user of fresh water in our value chain.
Building on our initial evaluations and existing data sets, IKEA is now seeking 2 Masters’ thesis students to deepen our understanding, improve the data we have today, and support us in identifying identify gaps if any and find solutions.
This analysis aims to capture the impact of both virgin and recycled raw material sourcing.
