The Water and Food Policy Division (WFPD) works closely with the PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency and the Singapore Food Agency to formulate, review and implement a broad range of policies and strategies to ensure supply of water and safe food for Singapore. The policy areas under WFPD include:

·         the provision of a reliable and high quality water supply;

·         flood risk management and drainage planning;

·         regulating water sector performance and demand management; and

·         securing a supply of safe food for Singapore, and enhancing food safety.

Executive/ Senior Executive/ Assistant Director (Water Supply & Drainage)

You will contribute to the strategic objectives of ensuring a resilient and sustainable water system as well as managing flood risk and drainage planning. You would also be involved in policies and joint programmes that cut across other policy areas under WFPD. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing drainage planning and flood risk management strategies to protect Singapore against the impact of climate change;
  • Working with partner agencies on the planning and coordination of infrastructure projects relating to Singapore’s supply and drainage networks;
  • Formulating strategies, policies and programmes relating to Singapore’s water resource management; and
  • Performing research and analysis on water policies, both domestic and international to enhance the adequacy and resilience of Singapore's water supply.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Degree, preferably in engineering with good honours
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong inter-personal skills
  • Ability to apply systems thinking
