The Red River Basin Commission (RRBC) is a charitable, not-for-profit organization designed to help facilitate a cooperative approach to water management within the Basin and is a well-established forum for identifying, developing, and implementing solutions to cross boundary issues.
The RRBC is led by 44 directors representing the diversity of this multi-jurisdictional Basin and is comprised of local, state, provincial, and First Nation government representation, the environmental community, and at-large members. It maintains offices in Fargo, ND, and Winnipeg, MB, and is dedicated to innovation in the management of the Red River Basin’s water resources.
The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the Manitoba Office team is responsible for Coordinating projects of various size and complexity. The Project Coordinator is accountable for organizing and controlling project activities (in the field) and for communicating risks, opportunities, and the current state of projects to the Managing Director. The Project Coordinator is equally responsible for coordinating those aspects and reporting issues, risks, or achievements to management. The Project Coordinator works under and reports to the Director, covering team coordination, groundwork data collection and tracking. The Project Coordinator will also have field work responsibilities related to some projects that may vary. The position also assists in outreach to Rural Municipalities, Water Shed Districts and any organization deemed to align with the Red River Basin Commission values.
Duties Assisting and supporting the Director in their daily duties. Help prepare project proposals, timeframes, schedule, and budgets Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information Monitor and track project’s progress and handle any issues that arise Act as a point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all stakeholders Utilization of project tools to monitor working hours, budget, plans, and money spent Reporting and relaying concerns to management as needed Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports Assisting the Director with the development of operating procedures Involvement in the coordination of projects from inception to completion Assist in develop training and briefing material for staff when requested Duties as assigned by management Assist with work group coordination for Natural Resource Framework Plan Assist with other initiatives such as Nutrient Reduction Strategy Other duties as assigned
Requirements: Project coordination experience. A combination of education and experience would also be considered Proficient and demonstrable written communication skills Proficiency in the use of computer software and MS office Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a small team as well as independently Capacity to manage various tasks simultaneously and deliver on established deadlines Video editing experience considered an asset
Drivers’ licence and past port passport (occasional travel to the US required)
Salary : (starting $43,680.00 to / based on experience) Plus benefits and RRSP / pension package
