The School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE; http://snre.arizona.edu/) at the University of Arizona (UA) (http://www.arizona.edu/) seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-eligible position in Ecohydrology at the rank of advanced Assistant or Associate Professor of Ecohydrology excited to join our growing interdisciplinary faculty and complement our existing research strengths. Successful applicants will be expected to continue their externally funded research program focused on interactions between the biosphere and the hydrological cycle, and to contribute to excellence in teaching and outreach within the School of Natural Resources and the Environment. We encourage applications from candidates with a strong physical science focus and research interests in one or more of the following areas: riparian systems, water supply and water quality, stream hydrology, applied geomorphology, ecophysiology, biometeorology, the soil-water-plant continuum, sustainability and conservation of water resources. This position offers the opportunity for applicants to engage in multiple exciting interdisciplinary initiatives including research made possible through the School’s partnerships with the Critical Zone Observatory Network, the Santa Rita Experimental Range, the Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed, the Landscape Evolution Observatory at Biosphere 2, the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON).
SNRE, has strong research, teaching and outreach programs in wildlife and fisheries ecology; conservation biology; ecohydrology and watershed management; rangeland ecology, restoration, and management; global change ecology and management; and arid lands research. SNRE is also host to multiple cooperators from both the federal (the USGS Arizona Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, the USGS Sonoran Desert Research Station, the National Park Service Desert Southwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, the USGS Southwest Climate Science Center, the National Phenology Network) and state (Game and Fish Dept., Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Environmental Quality) agencies. Our cooperative extension personnel have strong connections to landowners throughout Arizona.

|Duties & Responsibilities||
The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, collaborative, and externally funded research program, including publishing and presenting their research to the scientific community, and to work collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and students from around UA and other institutions to promote the mission and vision of making UA an international leader in ecohydrology and watershed management. The successful applicant will also contribute to undergraduate and graduate curricula. We seek an enthusiastic educator who will be responsible for developing and teaching courses that substantively contribute to our Bachelor of Science and our MS and Ph.D. degrees. The applicant is expected to advise and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students in coursework and research and be committed to the promotion and enhancement of the diversity of our students, particularly those from backgrounds underrepresented in the discipline.
|Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities||
We seek a candidate with a strong record of research and extramural funding related to Ecohydrology particularly in an interdisciplinary framework. Interdisciplinary research is a fundamental component of the University of Arizona and our School. Accordingly, we seek a candidate with an enthusiastic approach to collaborative research with colleagues within SNRE, other units in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (http://ag.arizona.edu/) including the Department of Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences (https://swes.cals.arizona.edu/), the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences (http://www.hwr.arizona.edu/), the Institute of the Environment (http://www.environment.arizona.edu/), and from across campus. The successful candidate is expected to produce a strong record of peer-reviewed and refereed publications in high-impact, indexed journals.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a discipline related to natural resources, a record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating high quality research, and evidence of interest and experience in classroom instruction.
