- You’ll review, clean and reconcile datasets from many different sources.
- You’ll perform cursory analysis of survey data collected from households.
- You’ll create systems and processes to simplify analysis and systematic data cleaning (i.e. macros, conditional dropdowns, etc.).
- You’ll ensure strong data management, making sure all incoming data is version-controlled and appropriately organized.
YOU LOVE EXCEL
You enjoy cleaning, reconciling, entering, sorting and updating spreadsheets. You find joy in things like macros and VLookups. Basically, you enjoy any and all things related to spreadsheets.
YOU’RE EXTREMELY DETAIL-ORIENTED
You live in the details. You believe good is the enemy of great, not the other way around. You can find the smallest of errors in Excel formulas, in data entry, everywhere.
YOU’RE FLEXIBLE, A QUICK RESPONDER
The problem we’re trying to solve as an organization is dynamic and each day brings fresh and exciting challenges. You like special projects and learning new things. You can react quickly and efficiently when called upon to change or pivot.
YOU’RE NOT ONLY DRIVEN — YOU CAN DRIVE YOUR OWN BOAT
You are committed to solving the world water crisis and are aware that keeping track of thousands of water projects takes a lot of hard work. You welcome the challenge. You are a self-starter and take initiative on any projects assigned. You are not afraid to admit mistakes and you fix what you can right away.
YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION TO BACK YOU UP
You’re an undergraduate student. You also have previous data cleaning and analysis work under your belt. You know how best to use Excel, put together concise documents and use online tools to manage large datasets. Strong data management and analysis skills – pivot tables, VLookups, macros – a must!
You’ll start in late-January and commit to at least 3 months at the charity: water office. We’ll need you for 20 hours a week and in the office at least three days a week.
This is an unpaid internship – but is an exceptional opportunity to gain experience at an international non-profit with an ambitious mission. We will gladly work with your institution to give you academic credit for your experience.
