The Wilson Institute for Canadian History welcomes application for research associate, to commence 1 February 2021 and to terminate on 1 August 2021. In this six-month research position, the successful candidate will assist with the completion of a major grant application on ‘Water Politics and Power in Canada,’ with specific reference to the changing conceptions of water as property over three centuries of Canadian history. Special attention will be paid to files from applicants who have expertise in or familiarity with Indigenous communities and water; the environmental consequences of industrial development; and the implications of water policies for urban communities. Successful applicants will have completed a PhD in history or an allied discipline and demonstrate a track record of successful scholarship in this field.
