Job description  

We are the Environment Agency. We look after land quality, promote sustainable land management and help protect and enhance wildlife habitats working closely with businesses to help them comply with environmental regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of integrated environment planning to improve climate resilience and nature. You will be working with both internal and external customers delivering key national outcomes and working directly with partners to achieve significant environmental improvements.
 

The team  

You'll be part of a fantastic team of environment planners focusing on water quality, water resources and river basin planning. Working with local and national colleagues and water companies, the team produces environmental evidence that informs and drives area priorities and investment. No other team in the area enables you to influence such a wide spectrum of the Environment Agency’s and partners’ work to financially invest in and improve the land and water environment.
 

Experience/skills required  

To be successful you will be expected to:
• have a degree in an environmental subject and experience in water quality or river basin planning, especially with regard to Water Company planning.
• have proven communication, influencing and networking skills;
• have experience of translating internal guidance and instructions into local delivery;
• have experience of using evidence to explore problems and propose effective and innovative solutions;
• be self-motivated and able to prioritise and deliver a busy workload to defined deadlines;
• be able to bring people together and inspire collaboration and information sharing;
• be able to coach and mentor others to improve resilience within the environment planning community.
• ideally have some experience of Marine water quality planning.
