Role

Assist with managing Raritan Headwaters Association’s (RHA) Community Well Test and Individual Well Test programs and provide general support for RHA’s Groundwater Science Program.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours at RHA’s Flemington office
  • Assist Well Test Manager during Community Well Test days, including some evenings and weekends
  • Provide excellent customer service for program participants
  • Daily coordination of the Well Test Program (Community and Individual), including:
    • assembling test kits
    • keeping a supply of complete basic test kits with paperwork on hand
    • organizing submission of payments
    • answering questions from residents about water quality and well testing
    • communicating with water quality lab and managing transport of samples to the lab
    • mailing results to participants
    • preparing and mailing well test reminders
  • Perform data entry and assist Well Test Manager in preparing reports and results to municipal partners
  • Organize groundwater quality materials and educational content as needed to support outreach to municipal and community organizations
  • Assist in outreach to the Spanish-speaking community
  • Participate in other RHA events and meetings on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications
  • Preferred working towards a degree or already have completed a bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental policy/science or a related field however other pertinent backgrounds will be considered
  • Bilingual (fluent English and Spanish) preferred
  • Suitable candidate will be organized, reliable, personable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Basic understanding of environmental issues
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required

Average 15 hours/week. Reports directly to RHA’s Well Test Manager. Position is based in Flemington, NJ.
