The American Association of Geographers (AAG) has an immediate opening for the position of Geography Research and International Outreach Specialist, to be located at the AAG’s central office in Washington, DC.
We seek an individual with a passion for geography and strong writing and management skills, who can support or lead AAG programs in research, education, and outreach. The successful candidate will participate in AAG research and international outreach programs, contribute to new project development; interact constructively with academic and non-academic organizations; and support program management.
A qualified candidate will have a Masters Degree or higher in geography or a closely related field, excellent writing and communications ability, and (at a minimum) basic computing and database skills. Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods and Geographic Information Systems would be a plus.
Starting salary is anticipated to be in the $70,000 to $110,000 range, commensurate with experience.
