It's hard to believe that today 844 million people do not have clean water and 2.3 billion do not have a decent toilet - around one in three of the world's population. Every two minutes, a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. We started because no NGO like us existed. We will end when no organisation like us is needed. In the meantime, we are making great progress - since 1981, we have reached 25 million people with clean water and, since 2004, 24 million people with sanitation.
WaterAid Tanzania is looking to fill the following vacancies to play a vital role in our mission to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030.
Working within the senior management team, the primary purpose of the Country Director is to provide leadership to the Country Programme and to contribute to the regional, Pan-Africa and global leadership of WaterAid. The Country Director achieves this by steering the direction of the Country Programme, empowering and developing staff and partners and influencing public and private institutions on the impact that improvements in safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene can make to the poorest and most excluded - thereby contributing to wider poverty reduction and human development.
Head of Policy & Advocacy.
The Head of Policy and Advocacy is responsible for organizing and conducting regular analysis of developments in national and sector policy, budgets and performance, and for using the analysis to advocate for pro-poor policy change and to inform country programme strategy and plans
Head of Business Development and Planning
The position of Head of Business Development will establish the vision of business development of WaterAid Tanzania in line with its funding plan. The job holder will liaise with national and international funding agencies (Institutional and other donors) independently and through organizational channels to ensure building robust and sustainable business relationships; leading to generate long-term resources to deliver on WaterAid Tanzania strategic objectives and program plans.
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (PMES)
The primary purpose of this role is to support the implementation of WaterAid Tanzania's country strategy by ensuring that all activities are properly included in realistic and achievable annual plans and to lead on the effective monitoring of progress of programme implementation against objectives. The PMES will work in strong collaboration with programme team to ensure timely and accurate project monitoring and evaluation, quality assurance of programmes, learning and reporting. The role will work with programme team to develop and support the ongoing planning cycle, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems, provide management information to support effective decision making, and support partners with effective planning, monitoring & evaluation systems, processes and practices. This position will ensure strong links between country programme wide planning, monitoring and evaluation and reporting approaches link with global M&E processes.
