A position of Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Water Resources Development Initiative by BJS
Bharatiya Jain Sanghtana (BJS), Pune is working to improve the water resources through various water conservation projects in the state of Maharashtra & Karnataka with active involvement of respective state Governments.
The initiative is comprising of rejuvenation of Water bodies and soil and water conservation activities. The organization is closely working with the various State, District Administration, Gram Panchayat as well as community to ensure program sustainability.
This position is based at head office in Pune. The person holding the position would be providing technical guidance to the operation team for better execution of the rejuvenation of water bodies, soil and water conservation activities and sustainable watershed development activities. The person holding position would also act as subject matter expert for the organization and support other departments as per the requirements of the organization.
The position requires intense field travel to support the field activities with the involvement of the team members and provide necessary inputs and guidance for better execution of the project activities. The person holding the position will take responsibility of capacity building of field staff with regard to technical understanding and accuracy during project execution.
Specific Role requirement:
• Provide technical guidance for implementation of water resources development activities
• Provide onsite support to the operational team members during the implementation;
Conceptualizing capacity building programs on sustainable water resource development program.
Identify training needs of the project team members as well as of the partner community on the issues;
• Support M & E team in designing and tracking project outcomes.
• Support M & E team in conducting various research studies.
• Support to resource mobilisation team in developing concept notes & proposals.
Coordinate within the team and with other institutions working on similar issues.
• Represent organization in various forums and discussions on water resource development themes.
Candidate should have a Batchelor’s / Master’s degree in Agriculture / Agri Engineering / technology or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university. The candidate should have minimum 10 years of working experience on soil and water conservation and sustainable agriculture development initiatives with specific involvement into social mobilization, designing and conducting capacity-building programs for the rural communities and implementation of agriculture and watershed development activities.
Salary offered : from 50,000 to 60,000/- per month.
