Severn Rivers Trust are looking for a dynamic project delivery officer to join our River Restoration Team to lead community engagement and river restoration activities in the Cradley Heath area of the West Midlands.

This exciting post will inspire local communities to connect with their local urban waterways through inclusive volunteer involvement in a programme of activities that will contribute to the creation of a cleaner, more accessible environment where wildlife is able to thrive.

You will have the skills to quickly and effectively establish the new role of Urban Rivers Project Officer throughout the area, build local engagement networks, develop a deliverable programme of river restoration-based activity, coordinate creative and accessible community led involvement and generate new and sustained enthusiasm for the local river environment.

You will also work with partners and external contractors to install features such as reedbeds, boardwalks and fish passes in the wider Black Country area.

You will have knowledge and understanding of river restoration techniques, experience of environmental project delivery, experience of working with and supporting volunteers and local communities, as well as the necessary confidence and communications skills to work effectively with partners and contractors.

The postholder will be expected to work from home and provide a regular on-site presence.

Starting salary £22,704 pro rata – 30 hours per week, initial 12-month contract
