According to Section 64 (3) of the Higher Education Act of Hesse with a development commitment after a probationary period of 6 years to receive a permanent contract as a W 2 Professor.

The professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Program of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.

The faculty ist looking for a person with a PhD and outstanding scientific potential, who conducts research on current and innovative topics of hydrogeology, publishes these succesfully and passes them on in teaching. A focus should be set on at least one of the following topics:

  • Analysis and modelling of groundwater fluxes and reactive transport
  • Innovative modelling approaches for considering aquifer heterogeneity
  • Groundwater management under the influence of global change
  • Remediation of contaminated sites in groundwater
  • Drinking water extraction from groundwater
  • Vulnerability of groundwater resources

The chair represents and teaches the full range of hydrogeology in the degree porgrams of environmental engineering and civil engineering and, if necessary, further fundamentals in environmental research.

First experiences with application and implementation of third-party funded projects as well as the willingness to take the lead in coordinated research projects are expected. Multidisciplinary cooperation within the faculty and the University of Kassel shall be strengthened by this position.
For research and teaching, exisiting experimental equipment (e. g. for stable water isotopes) and experimental areas can be used by arrangement.
The participation in the academic administrative autonomy is a job-related task.
