Australia nationals: Senior Policy Officer (Climate Change Adaptation)
Adaptation and the staff managing the work streams to lead and drive strategic projects.
This role does not manage staff and reports to the Manager Adaptation alongside two other Senior Policy Officers, each of which manage small teams of staff working on place-based adaptation and system-based adaptation streams of work respectively.
This role will work closely with the Manager Adaptation and the staff managing the work streams to lead and drive strategic projects that are relevant to both of the team's work streams on a variety of adaptation topics, collaborating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders as needed to achieve broad support, progress and achievement of intended outcomes.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders in a fast-paced and changeable work environment, on the intersection of adaptation with other topics such as climate science, data, communications, strategy, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and risk.
- Tertiary qualification(s) including science, engineering, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, development studies or similar is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of climate change adaptation strategic policy issues.
- Demonstrated experience and success in planning and delivering multiple, complex, interdependent projects.
