The position is located at the Laboratoire Image Ville et Environnement (LIVE-UMR 7362) which is under the joint supervision of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg.
The general theme of the team is the interdisciplinary study of running and stagnant water hydrosystems (gravel pits, wetlands) in the perspective of sustainable environmental management of aquatic and riparian environments, in a context of changing resources and hydrological extremes. One of the common objectives is to explore ways of assessing the consequences of restoration work using innovative diagnostic tools and geomorphological and ecological monitoring indicators, particularly due to their interdisciplinary nature, and to provide feedback to optimize the management of restored environments and the development of new restoration projects. The hydrological dimension enables the study of water flows to be developed in the monitoring (or even development) of restorations, for the integrated management of river hydrosystems. It is not a question of opposing risk management/water resource management to ecological restoration, but on the contrary to show complementarity in the management of these two issues.

Title: Morpho-sedimentary dynamics of Vosges rivers. Nesting of spatio-temporal scales for a functional geomorphological diagnosis

The dynamics of morpho-sedimentary in the Vosges massif remains little known today. This gap affects both sedimentary flows on current and subtemporal scales and the temporal trajectories of sedimentary stocks in the valley bottoms after the last glacial maximum, the former being functionally dependent on the latter.

At the same time, the project is also based on nested spatial scales: in addition to the entire massif, an east-west transect in the formerly ice-covered part of the Vosges (Fecht in Alsace, Vologne/Cleurie/Moselle in Lorraine) will be investigated in depth on the scales of valley bottoms and minor beds.
