Wessex Water is a community within a community. As we face these challenging times, it’s essential we maintain the supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to our customers. This role is an integral part of this journey.

What’s the job?
Within our talented Water Resources and Supply Strategy team we are proud of the quality and efficiency of our work to ensure the right solution is delivered for our customers. Joining a small team of Water Resource professionals, you will likely support a number of key areas such as water resources planning, hydrometric data analysis and compliance.

This role provides an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Analyst to have a real impact on the projects that are high priority within the Water Resources team. The projects are varied and significant and could include data analysis and modelling for drought planning, supply/demand options evaluation, and input into our regional water resources plan. You may also get involved in modelling and/or programming work necessary to meet both internal and regulatory requirements

As an analyst, your advanced analytical and modelling skills will contribute to the multiple projects that the Water Resources team are working on. You’ll undertake work that will feed into our regional plan and support our developing water resources strategy, support drought planning activities, and also in the data and compliance activities of the water resources team.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who loves getting stuck into spreadsheets and data. Large amounts of your time will be working on Microsoft Excel, so it would be desirable that you have some understanding of pivot tables, V-lookups and macros. If you also have experience of data analysis/data science, in particular using R, and mathematical modelling, then we are very keen to hear from you!
