We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Environmental Scientist to join our Fairfax, VA office.


We are in search of an enthusiastic team member to join our family of engineers and scientists who will provide support for projects related to MS4 programs, stream monitoring, data analysis, geographical information systems, visual field assessments, watershed restoration and planning, stormwater BMP planning and siting, BMP inspections, and IDDE inspections.


•Managing project databases and geospatial data
•Analyzing data using ArcGIS (or ArcPro), Excel, and Access
•Conducting field data collection (stormwater, stream water quality and flow)
•Maintaining field equipment and supplies
•Tracking monitoring activities and laboratory invoices
•Literature research, interpretation, and analysis on various topics
•Preparing documents and reports through drafting and reviewing text and by producing maps, figures, and tables


•Minimum B.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field and 1-3 years’ experience
•Well-balanced skill set
•Knowledge of MS4 programs and restoration practices
•Experience in SWPPPs, BMP inspections, or IDDE inspections, preferred
•Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, database, GIS, and research skills
•Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork — collect water quality samples and perform equipment maintenance in various weather conditions during and outside normal business hours (including weekends)
•Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle for field work
•Ability to respond successfully to multiple demands and manage time effectively
•Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
•Strong interpersonal skills to include excellent written and oral communication skills
