Australia nationals: Environmental & Green Leaders Coordinator
About this opportunity
The main responsibility of the Environmental and Green Leaders Coordinator is to maintain SV's Environment Management System (EMS) and to ensure SV's EMS maintains its ISO 14001 accreditation and complies with Victorian government standards in environmental management.
This position will also involve the leadership and coordination of the monthly Green Leaders meetings to set targets and identify sustainable initiatives and campaigns to reduce office-based environmental impacts across the organisation to meet EMS environmental objectives, targets and reporting requirements. Green Leaders advise and encourage staff to adopt environmentally friendly practices across the environmental impact areas. The Green Leaders have been organised to focus on Sustainability Victoria's key areas of resource use: energy, water, paper, sustainable procurement, travel and waste/recycling.
Presentations and information updates on environmental sustainability actions will be required internally as well as to external stakeholders to provide EMS updates as well as to engage staff to drive high level behaviour change.
This role will work closely with the EMS Sponsor and Facilities Coordinator and sits within Sustainability Victoria's Facilities and Environmental Management Team which forms part of the Corporate Services, Finance Group.
To be successful in this role you will be required seek input from, and negotiate with, a wide cross section of interests and develop appropriate actions align to this while managing the expectations of a passionate cohort.
Specialist skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) principles and practice to ensure ISO14001 certification is maintained
This role is being offered as a part-time opportunity 2 days per week
