Research Consultant fixed term (3 months)
IIED is looking for a research consultant to work with us to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the Least Developed Countries’ ability to engage in climate diplomacy.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a relevant postgraduate degree and professional experience to apply their research expertise and gain further insight into international cooperation on climate change.
This consultancy will support the Climate Change Group’s Global Climate Law, Policy and Governance Team and relates to IIED’s work to support the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in the UNFCCC process. We are looking for a consultant to produce a learning paper that seeks to understand COVID-19’s impact on climate diplomacy during 2020. In collaboration with IIED staff, the consultant will develop methods for comparative analysis of diplomatic engagements and conducting a series of evaluative interviews with LDC officials. The consultant will then collect and analyse this data and contribute to writing a learning paper discussing its findings.

Commitment and fees: 3-month contract over the period September to December 2020 to be paid at a rate of £200 per day according to qualifications and experience. The consultant will be responsible for their own tax, pension contributions, insurance etc.
