Technical consultant in ecohydrology
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist, the individual consultant selected will manage the coordination and overall implementation of a publication on the ecohidrology demonstration sites in LAC and an e-course of Ecohydrology, including:
- Principles and grounds of ecohidrology as a focus science to support the management of water resources. Water security and the SDGs
- Applications of ecohydrology in various approaches of a watershed (springs, rivers, lakes)
- Case studies in the management of watersheds, wetlands, coastal areas, urban areas, territorial planning and legal aspects
- Global ecohydrology demonstration sites: lessons learned around the world and adaptation to the LAC region
- Master Degree or advanced academic degree in Ecohydrology, Hydrology, Hydrogeology or a related field
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in ecohydrology
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relations within a multi-cultural environment
- Experience in working with UN agencies, International Organizations, Government institutions
- Experience in water studies in Latin America and in Caribbean Island States
