To aid field staff in the collection of field data and samples from surface waters, sediments.
Collection of data through use of microcomputer equipment. Aid in the construction, calibration, and maintenance of sampling stations and technical equipment. Perform stream discharge measurements.
Ability to learn field stream flow measurement techniques, water quality sampling techniques, and operation of water quantity and quality measurement instrumentation.
Basic knowledge of water resources, field testing principles, procedures. Ability to operate and trouble-shoot field analytical equipment and to perform sample analyses for water quality testing. Ability to keep logical, complete, and accurate notes. Ability to collect and compile data for analytical reports. Ability to learn and apply basic computer applications. Ability to work with others. Ability to use simple carpentry tools.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Have a valid driver’s license.
Degree in environmental studies, engineering, chemistry, biology, geology, or one of the other natural sciences that would provide knowledge of water resources, or experience in surface water hydrology.
Basic knowledge of computer software programs, such as Basic, Excel, and Word.
