Use of treatment nature-based solutions (Constructed Wetlands) for sustainable water management via EURAXESS

Universita' di Bologna

Bologna, , IT

The activities plan will be articulated through the following phases:
1) Analysis, definition, and evaluation of the implementation of nature-based solutions (CWs) for the control of diffuse contamination from drainage systems (urban and / or agricultural) in order to improve their quality.
2) Optimization of treatment efficiencies in CWs processes, evaluating the potential use of innovative components under different geometric configurations and operating conditions.
3) Development and application of mathematical models to be used as a decision support tool by local water resources authorities and managers for the mitigation of issues related to the presence of contaminants in urban and rural waters, with particular reference to the agricultural context.
