Responsibilities

Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:

Develops conventional and medium complexity products and procedures to map, inventory, and asses water resource features, threats, and needs at National Wildlife Refuges.

Consults with refuge staff in the regions, reviews historical and legal documents, and compiles scientific literature and original research on water rights, water quantity, water quality, climate, soils, geology, water measurement data and records, and engineering analyses.

Independently designs and conducts unusually conventional hydrologic investigations.

Evaluates activities of operating staff regarding water monitoring and management to improve effectiveness of monitoring and management, and to ensure quality control of field procedures and protocols.
