Straughan is currently seeking a Stream Restoration Specialist to join our Water Resources Engineering Business Unit who has the ability to be a leader:. The ideal candidate should have an interest in and understanding of current environmental issues and a shared vision for sustainability.
Requirements:
- 4-10 years experience
- Stream restoration design including sediment transport, and modeling experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geomorphology, Environmental science, or related field
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Geomorphic assessment experience
- Environmental permitting experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers
Highly Desired:
- PE registered in Mid-Atlantic region and have ability for Maryland registration by reciprocity
- Rosgen Certified or similar training
- Hydrology & hydraulic analyses
- Wetland Restoration design experience
- Stormwater management design and permitting experience
- Drainage system design experience
- Shoreline protection/restoration design experience
- Coastal studies
- Site design and LEED experience
- Environmental consulting and/or civil engineering practices (Forest Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineations/Wetland Impact Plates, Planting Plans, and similar environmental documents) experience
- Active involvement in professional organizations
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Must be comfortable marketing technical services
- Project management experience
- Proposal and task order development experience
Software Experience:
- HEC-RAS required
- TR-55/TR-20 desired
- SMS and SRH-2D or TUFLOW desired
- GEOPAK and/or INROADS desired
- Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD desired
