The position is a 1 year data scientist position (1 October 2020 – 30 September 2021) at the Earth and Life Institute of the UCLouvain (https://uclouvain.be/en/research-institutes/eli) within the SPGE funded program EGERIEC (Evaluation and Management of the Water Resource Risks of the Walloon Catchments based on modern data mining techniques and solutions oriented towards hydro-ecology and green infrastructure). The overall objective of the EGERIEC program is to develop, test and promote innovative methodological approaches to characterize, predict and manage the pollution risks of water production plants (surface and groundwater) in Wallonia. The first specific objective of the 1 year position is to unravel the cause-effect relationships between possible pressures and water resources quality as described in a pressure-quality data base and this for 5 production plants in Wallonia. The second specific objective is to develop data based and site specific water quality models using advanced regression methods (“Machine learning”).
