The Green Adelaide Branch, Department for Environment and Water, provides support to the Green Adelaide Board and seeks to facilitate and deliver the Board’s Business Plan. The Board is established by the Minister for Environment and Water under the Landscapes SA Act 2019 and seeks to create Adelaide as a cool, green and water-sensitive city that encourages engagement with the natural environment from the urban community of 1.3 million people. Green Adelaide delivers a “hills to sea” integrated catchment approach with a target to have Adelaide proclaimed a “national park city” and to promote the biodiversity, coastal values, nature-connectedness and sustainable use of water resources across the metropolitan area. Partnerships and collaboration with all levels of government and non-government organisations, the community and Kaurna is at the heart of delivering the programs of Green Adelaide.
The Manager, Operations is a senior role, an integral part of Green Adelaide’s Management Team and provides leadership to a team of professional and multi-disciplinary staff, and discipline expertise to Board members, the government and the community in relation to progress on sustainability objectives.
The Manager, Operations is accountable to the Director, Green Adelaide and is responsible for ensuring relevant landscape services are provided to the Adelaide community. These services will encourage and progress an integrated and innovative approach to the planning and delivery of a sustainable urban environment that meets greening, biodiversity, coastal, nature-connection and sustainable water use objectives. The role will oversee a range of programs and projects to achieve these objectives within the urban context. The Manager, Operations will lead active collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the development and implementation of the Green Adelaide Board plans.
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties
- May be required to participate in Biosecurity emergency response
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
MAS3 – $120,467 per annum
A current National Police Check is essential (for identified Positions of Trust).
A tertiary qualification in management, NRM, ecology, agriculture or business is highly desirable.
