Senior Project Officer (Ise Valley Initiative)
Do you want to make a difference to North Northamptonshire's Natural capital provision? Do you want to be involved in delivering a variety of habitats and ensuring people can move sustainably. This role is for an enthusiastic innovative person that can deliver on the above, use a network of organisations to help, liaise with landowners and ensure that funding is available to make it all work together.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist in the development and delivery of two key projects; The Ise Valley Initiative centred around the River Ise, a major tributary of the River Nene and, The Forest for Life (previously known as the Rockingham Forest for Life). This post is being offered as a full time position for 2 years with the potential to extend subject to securing ongoing funding. We are also open to a job share arrangement with two people sharing the role (18.5 hours each per week) with duties split per project.
The Ise Valley Initiative is a partnership project that aims to deliver improvements to the River Ise in terms of the natural environment, water quality and access. This project is overseen by a board of project partners and, supported by the CEO and team mates at River Nene Regional Park, you will report directly to this board. There is a rich history of projects in the Ise and well established partner relationships to build upon as you lead this initiative to the next level.
The Forest for Life project (previously known as the Rockingham Forest for Life) will focus around woodland creation across the whole of Northamptonshire. The historic project board will need to be reconvened to oversee this project through the next two years as you work to raise the profile of the project, seek suitable sites for delivery and secure funding to support the establishment of new woodlands. As with the Ise project there exists strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders for you to build upon.
