The West Virginia University (WVU) Institute of Water Security and Science (IWSS) and the Interdisciplinary Hydrology Laboratory (IHL) is pleased to announce an opening for a PhD graduate research assistant (GRA) to be filled for fall semester 2020. West Virginia University is the state’s flagship research-one institution, and is among the top universities in the nation, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
A highly motivated GRA is sought that is committed to gaining experience investigating land use practices (E.g. various forestry, agricultural, urban, and industrial land uses), hydro-climatological processes, and/or water quality in the Appalachian region of the United States. The student will obtain experience conducting environmental monitoring; maintaining equipment; conducting laboratory analyses; and collection, processing, and analyses of data, and/or modeling; and developing a dissertation including peer reviewed articles.
Applicants must possess bachelors, and master’s degrees completed in a closely related field. Successful applicants will work collaboratively and independently, and must have a U.S. driver’s license and automobile. The GRA will include a competitive stipend, health insurance, and tuition waiver.
