You will be a member of a team managing water entitlements and access to water from the Toowoomba centre and providing support and assistance to a larger team across the Queensland Murray Darling Basin catchments. You will provide technical support in relation to the operations of the water entitlement dealings team.

Key Duties and Accountabilities:
• Manage access to water including monitoring and reporting on flows and take.
• Monitor and report on condition and trend of both ground and surface water resources, and the status of works authorised to take and store water and make recommendations on management strategies for access to the resource.
• Undertake investigations and make recommendations for dealings with water entitlements and associated resources including changes to water allocations, licensing of overland flow, quarry material, riverine protection and associated developments, including both surface water and groundwater.
• Consult, liaise and provide advice to staff, management, clients, the general public and Government agencies on water management matters, the Water Act 2000 and relevant parts of the Planning Act 2016.
• Prepare and review technical and investigation reports in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Advise management and project teams on resource management issues through the preparation of briefs and correspondence, as well as representing the department in community forums.
• Participate in and actively contribute to team and project-based activities, including developing work programs and schedules to meet individual and group targets and deadlines.
• Other duties as directed and required.
