U.K. nationals: Senior Specialist Advisor Environmental Assessment team
To deliver the highest level of professional specialist expertise on the assessment and management of environmental risks and opportunities of NRW projects and strategies in line with NRW's values. You will lead and influence a broad range of strategic and environmental issues, in particular "development" functions such as Flood Risk Management, forestry and energy delivery on meeting the requirements of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment and Water Framework Directive compliance. You will lead on high environmental and reputational risk projects that can have a high public profile and be contentious. Using this expertise, you will act as the technical lead for environmental assessment and you will provide expert advice and knowledge to the Welsh and UK Governments to shape and inform legislative change, government policy and stakeholder agendas. You will translate legislation, Welsh Government policy and NRW organisational strategy into practical approaches for frontline delivery in a regulatory / operational environment. You will lead and manage input from colleagues from other teams across EPP and Operations, WG Colleagues and sector representatives and partners.

This role sits in the Evidence, Policy and Permitting Directorate within the Natural Resource Management Policy Leadership Group reporting to the Environmental Assessment Team Leader.
