Offer Description
Provision of safe drinking water (DW) is essential for human health. Disinfection before and during distribution is often required to ensure microbially safe DW, but it leads to disinfection by-products (DBPs) formation, some of which toxic for human health. Future decreasing quality of source water will increase treatment requirements for DW production, including final disinfection, increasing DBPs formation. Research focuses on: i) promoting the use of a combined set of sampling and monitoring tools for a comprehensive water quality characterization; ii) supporting the implementation of novel treatment solutions; iii) supporting the management of the distribution network to avoid water quality deterioration up to final consumers.
