Sustainability Data Analyst

Facebook’s Sustainability team drives Sustainability strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. We seek an experienced Data Analyst to join the team in support of this work. The Sustainability Data Analyst will help set and track organizational goals, oversee annual environmental data inventory calculation through verification, maintain forecasts, and deliver business insights on an ongoing basis to the Sustainability team and internal partner teams. The ideal candidate has strong environmental analytical skills, is passionate about leveraging data and tools to drive business strategy, and is effective in communicating insights and recommendations. This is a full-time position based in our Fremont, CA. office.

  • Oversee environmental data inventory calculation, compilation, verification, and publication
  • Build models to drive and maintain greenhouse gas emissions forecasts based on historical data and scenario modeling and provide adjacent environmental data analysis
  • Collect and analyze third-party environmental data
  • Evaluate and ensure data integrity, identify reporting issues, recommend solutions, and remove roadblocks
  • Enable effective data management and strategic decision making by building databases, dashboards, and tools on a diverse set of topics with a focus on enabling automation and scaling, as well as providing easily understood reports
  • Provide day-to-day coordination for projects and effectively communicate strategy and priorities to internal teams
  • Track progress against targets and benchmark performance against key indicators and stakeholder expectations
    • 4+ years of experience working in an analytical capacity with environmental data developing insights, defining metrics, and making recommendations to drive sustainability and Greenhouse Gas strategy
    • Experience using data tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources
    • Understanding of current practices and trends in Greenhouse Gas and broader sustainability reporting
    • Proven stakeholder management experience – including managing multiple cross-functional partners simultaneously
    • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Organizational and project management experience
    • Technical experience in Tableau and Excel, data management, critical analysis skills, and attention to detail
      • Master’s degree in related field
      • Experience in financial modeling, ROI analysis, and/or business forecasting, and experience seeing beyond numbers to drive sound decision-making from complex datasets
      • Presentation and communications experience extracting insights from technical data sets to varied audiences including communicating with senior management
