We are looking for a dynamic scientist with experience in hydrologic modelling to join our team at the Department of Forest Resources Management, University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The successful candidate will contribute to research aimed at understanding and quantifying the effects of natural and anthropogenic forest disturbances at the stand, small, medium and large watershed scales in snow-dominated environment. Applicants must have demonstrated strengths needed for not only the application of existing hydrological models but also making source code changes and adapting these models to the simulation of the hydrology of disturbed watersheds. The candidate must have strong background in physical hydrology and a sound understanding of the interactions of the vegetation cover with processes such as snow accumulation, melt, evaporation and transpiration. Applicants must have strong mathematical and computer skills.
