Climate Risk Management Specialist (International)
23. The international Climate Risk Management specialist will:
(i) in consultation with ADB, agree on a methodological framework and template for a climate change assessment of the ensuing project;
(ii) in consultation with the other consultants and the CEGIS team, develop an inventory of climate data required for the above assessment including (but not limited to) meteorological and hydrological data, and scenarios from downscaled models relevant to CHT;
(iii) evaluate the potential impacts of at least two emission scenarios, one with low and one with high emissions;
(iv) conduct a climate risk assessment for the project sites and identify vulnerabilities to extreme climate events; and
(v) together with the rest of the team, identify adaptation measures that meet economic, social and technical viability, and incorporate them into the project design.

The international Climate Risk Management Specialist must have the following minimum qualifications and experience: (i) A degree from an accredited academic institution in environmental or climate science or a related field.
(ii) Ten years of experience in climate assessments (i.e., climate change modeling, climate risk assessment and management, etc.) in developing countries, with a minimum of 5 years in the Asian region. Prior work experience in South Asia and Bangladesh will be considered favorably.
(iii) Five years of experience as a team member of technical assistance teams designing and/or implementing development projects in association with bi-lateral and multi-lateral development institutions.
(iv) Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Knowledge of Bangla will be considered favorably.
