Valley Water, one of the largest water districts in the State of California, is looking for a Treatment Plant Design and Commissioning Manager to oversee Valley Water’s process design and commissioning unit. This is a single position, for which the incumbent would come in either under the Engineering Manager classification or the Utility Operations and Maintenance Manager classification, depending on background and experience. This is a Unit Manager position that assists the division implement capital projects and acts as a liaison between groups to ensure capital projects move forward. THE JOB
This is a Unit Manger position that reports to the Deputy Operating Officer of Treated Water and leads 6 – 10 staff who oversee water treatment plant operations and maintenance, and engineering programs and projects. This position is responsible for an operating budget over $385,000 and an approximate CIP budget of $1.7 million. This unit will help the division implement capital projects and act as a liaison between groups to ensure capital projects move forward.
 
Applicants should have a background of at least five years in a treatment plant or wastewater plant with a focus either in engineering or operations and maintenance. Experience could include overseeing the design, construction, and implementation of engineering projects, or the complex operations, maintenance and repair of water treatment plants, or similar public or utility infrastructures.

Salary and Benefits: Annual Salary: $154,232 – $196,976 DOE/DOQ
Possession of a valid California license as a Professional Engineer includes a pay differential of +$3,868 – $4,908 (salary range is $158,100 – $201,884). Both positions include an excellent benefits package (see the full brochure for details).
