Responsibilities

Serves as a supervisor over a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technical resource specialists. The team is responsible for implementing site-specific planning, design, and construction such as floodplain structure modifications, channel rehabilitation projects, gravel augmentation, riparian revegetation, sediment control, and environmental compliance monitoring. Work includes but not limited to:

Collecting planning and design data, evaluating project alternatives, preparing designs, developing cost estimates and relative project benefit comparisons, awarding contracts and conducting quality control inspections.

Field investigations and surveys. Assuring availability of photogrammetry and mapping, arranging access (rights-of-way).

Conducting and/or coordinating environmental permits requirements, NEPA/CEQA compliance, Clean Water Act compliance, realty actions, public involvement and landowner contacts, and various access and maintenance agreements.

Representing the Executive Director and the Program in a variety of public forums. Presenting current program status, areas of potential concern, and proposed activities.

Maintaining effective working relationships with individual stakeholders, stakeholder groups, and local landowners in the river corridor.
