The Department of Environmental Engineering at ‘Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología – UTEC’, Lima, Peru, invites applications from outstanding individuals for one faculty position. We anticipate hiring at Assistant Professor level, although truly exceptional candidates may be suitable for hiring at Associate Professor level. We are especially interested in the following areas, but not limited to: (1) Hydrogeology, (2) Edaphology, Soil pollution and Restoration, (3) Air pollution, (4) Remote Sensing, Geomatics and GIS, (5) Environmental Chemistry, (6) Water Resources and wastewater treatment, (7) Sustainable Development, (8) Environmental Risk Assessment and Monitoring and (9) Ecosystem Engineering. Applicants whose work bridges these areas and who envision cross-departmental collaborations are particularly encouraged to apply.

Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to obtain competitive external funding, to establish an effervescent cross-disciplinary research program, and to contribute through service to the profession, to the department, and to UTEC.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering or environmental sciences.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching environmental engineering and/or environmental siences courses;
  • Experience writing grant proposals;
  • Demonstrated interest in working with academic, industry, and/or community partners.
