Our Water & Environment Team is seeking a candidate to join our growing Resiliency and Climate Adaptation practice in New York City. Our internship program is designed to provide a multi-disciplinary learning experience and exposure to a wide range of projects across our spectrum of climate-centric services to foster development of professional skills and knowledge in the field. The W&E Resiliency and Climate Adaptation Intern will work on: -Research and writing projects that center on the intersection of design, engineering, and planning -Data collection, analysis, and visualization for coastal and riverine projects -Project support including preparing materials for client meetings, coordinating internal meetings, and tracking project tasks and schedules -Support for pursuits, proposals, and business development on a variety of climate-related projects
- Current standing as a rising senior or graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil/Water Resources or Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design Undergraduate or Graduate program, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework in engineering, planning, policy, or related fields
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as a team player and take direction
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
- Experience with ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and/or HEC-HMS
- Coursework in coastal engineering, climate resilience and adaptation, public policy, climate finance, watershed management, or other related courses
- Experience with community resilience planning, hazard mitigation planning, project implementation
