Our dedicated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Thematic Research team review relevant ESG topics and publishes reports on the issues and megatrends impacting investment decisions, such as climate change, renewable energy, water sustainability, corporate governance and social and labour practices. You will be joining a team which also partners with prominent academics and sustainable finance experts, as well as participating in industry working groups and providing input to policymakers in cooperation with DWS’s investment specialists as it relates to ESG.

The DWS Research House oversees all aspects of research activities for Active and Passive businesses within DWS. Its activities are organised along four pillars: Micro, Macro, Data and Research Institute. The advertised role is within the Research Institute, which focusses on producing thematic research publications on ESG, Cash Return on Capital Invested, economics, politics and society with a medium to long term perspective.

Your key responsibilities

  • All aspects of ESG research including reviewing, writing, and organising events and presentations
  • Understanding the roles and reviewing the output of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), academic institutions and other institutions operating in the ESG domain
  • Providing support in defining a sustainable ESG framework for investors and the issues they ought to consider when providing capital
  • Providing regular summary (daily and monthly) of key ESG headlines for Chief Information Office Macro Daily
  • Interacting with various functions within the organisation (compliance, legal, comms) to bring content to internal and external stakeholders

Your skills and experience

  • Relevant ESG experience
  • Open to applicant with journalist, NGO and/ or financial sector background
  • Outstanding analytical and written skills required

  • European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies/ Chartered Financial Analyst ESG certification cost covered by DWS
  • Presentation skills training
