Provide program management, writing and editing, and budgeting support related to the DoD’s environmental programs, including compliance with environmental laws, cleanup of contaminated sites, sustainability, international environmental compliance and cleanup efforts, and environmental planning. Draft reports, including assisting with developing data calls, collecting, verifying, and analyzing data, writing drafts, summarizing performance and funding trends, and tracking progress toward performance goals and metrics. Provide analytical support for the development of policy and guidance, including researching various environmental topics and analyzing laws, regulations, and policies, draft policy and guidance, and adjudicate comments. Provide conference and workgroup support by coordinating meeting space, drafting meeting agendas, talking points, meeting summaries, and other meeting materials, and participating in meetings. Develop analyses, results, and conclusions in the form of written reports, whitepapers, executive summaries, briefs, and presentations. Interface with clients, as required.
-2+ years or experience with environmental laws, regulations, and policy
-Experience with Microsoft Office
-Ability to work independently and on multiple projects and manage time effectively
-Ability to demonstrate flexibility in responding to conflicting deadlines and priorities
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree
-1+ years of experience with performing Internet research and using databases and web-based data management reporting systems
-Experience with supporting DoD programs
-Knowledge of the structure and missions of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the DoD Components
-Ability to assist with the preparation of presentations
-Ability to organize and facilitate workgroup meetings
-Possession of excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BA or BS degree in Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field
