We are seeking confident engineering graduates to join our growing Water Catchment Management team. Our team in the UK comprises around 500 people working across all aspects of the Water Environment. This includes projects directly linked to risk management with the water environment, such as related to water resources and flood risk management, as well as in sectors impacting on, or impacted by, the water environment.

Our Water Catchment Management team provides strategic, feasibility and design advice to a range of clients including Highway Agencies, Environment Agency, Local Authorities, utility companies and national rail companies.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting a range of river engineering and flood risk management projects, including flood risk assessments, feasibility studies, outline / detailed design and construction supervision of flood risk management schemes.
As part of our Graduate Development Programme, we will also positively encourage the development of complementary technical and project delivery skills and provide opportunities and training for this.
Key responsibilities:
- Feasibility and option appraisal studies
- Flood risk management and flood defence design
- River engineering design
- Preparation of consent applications
- Preparation of materials for consultation with project stakeholders
- Geospatial analysis
- Developing design drawings using CAD
- Undertaking calculations and other technical analysis in support of the team
- Drafting technical reports to support planning and / or design of projects
Essential Criteria
You will hold or be in your final year of working towards an accredited minimum level 2:1 MEng degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent);
Strong interest in River Engineering and Flood Risk Management;
Desirable
- The drive and motivation to become a Chartered Engineer;
- Excellent analytical and technical skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce well-presented reports;
- Relevant work experience;
- Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team;
- Good IT skills.
